COUNSELLING CELL

COLLEGE OF APPLIED SCIENCE (IHRD), CHELAKKARA

The Buddy Counseling Cell is a support system established to provide emotional support and guidance to students. The cell aims to foster a supportive and inclusive campus environment, promoting mental health and well-being among students. The primary objective of the Buddy Counseling Cell is to provide a safe and confidential space for students to share their concerns and feelings. Additionally, the cell aims to promote stress management, coping mechanisms, and problem-solving skills among students.

The Buddy Counseling Cell is typically headed by a faculty advisor or counselor, who oversees the cell's activities. The cell offers confidential and non-judgmental listening, ensuring students feel comfortable sharing their concerns. Referral services to professional counselors or support groups are available when needed. To promote mental health awareness, the cell organizes various activities, including the launch of a counseling helpline, "Mind Matters" awareness sessions, and talks on life skills and communication.

The cell has also conducted talks on topics such as adolescence, stress management, and emotional well-being. Students can reach out to the cell through various channels, such as email, phone, or in-person visits. By utilizing the Buddy Counseling Cell, students not only receive emotional support but also develop essential life skills, including communication, problem-solving, and stress management. The cell's initiatives have created a positive impact on the campus community, fostering a culture of empathy, understanding, and support.
