MGNCRE CLUB
COLLEGE OF APPLIED SCIENCE (IHRD), CHELAKKARA
The MGNCRE Club at the College of Applied Science Chelakkara is dedicated to fostering environmental awareness and sustainable practices within the campus community. Through a series of impactful initiatives, the club has actively engaged students and staff in waste management, recycling, and conservation efforts. A comprehensive waste audit conducted by volunteers was a key starting point, followed by the collection and disposal of plastic waste, which was handed over to the panchayath authorities. To promote cleanliness and prevent littering, waste bins were strategically installed near the bus stop and across the campus, with separate bins for paper and plastic waste to encourage proper segregation.
In line with its commitment to sustainability, the MGNCRE Club has spearheaded various eco-friendly projects, including the creation of a compost pit for processing bio-waste on campus. Additionally, water feeders were placed throughout the campus to support local birdlife, further enhancing the institution's green initiatives. Regular plastic removal drives and campus cleaning activities have been carried out to maintain a pristine environment, while campaigns to educate students on waste management practices have been organized in classrooms.
The MGNCRE Club continues to lead the charge in promoting a greener and more sustainable campus through its innovative projects and collaborative efforts. By creating awareness about environmental issues and providing practical solutions, the club is helping shape a future that values ecological responsibility and environmental stewardship, making the College of Applied Science Chelakkara a model for sustainability.
